About Amustela
Amustela is one of the East Coast’s premier experts on vintage American cabaret dance and Arabic Raks Shaqui. She has years of experience performing in restaurants and nightclubs, and has drawn on that experience and her tireless research to distill the essence of this quintissential American art form. Amustela is known as a teacher of teachers and is an engaging lecturer on the art. Amustela is also an expert in the “Golden Age” and vintage styles (Samia Gamal, Tahia Carioca and Naima Afek). She has produced some of the most entertaining and professional virtual shows - she has both the technical expertise and a creative eye.
A Genuine Artist and Teacher - Amustela is an award-winning performer, producer and master instructor based in Charlotte NC (formerly Washington DC). She has received multiple honors and awards for performance and instruction. She has taken her craft to the level of a competition judge and historical lecturer on the art. As an acclaimed workshop instructor and performance coach, she has taught and judged at all of the major competitions in the eastern US and many other national conventions and festivals.

Mesmerizing Performer - . Amustela has also been involved in numerous charitable events, performance venues and film projects. Amustela was a regular presence in the restaurant scene for over 25 years, performing primarily in the DC metropolitan area. A competition veteran, performance coach, instructor and producer, she is considered an authority on the technique, etiquette and culture of American Cabaret style and Vintage Orientale. She has coached and trained in technique, stage presence, and musicality.
